Diamond Lights

Diamond Lights are or is not according to popular culture of the late 20th Century a diabolical record made by ex England Internationals Glenn Hoddle and Chris Waddle about the grand floodlights that used to corner Elland Road.

Three of the floodlights were erected in 1974 and the other around four years later. Standing at approximately 260ft tall with each floodlight housing 55 lamps. The Diamond Lights at the time were the highest floodlights in Europe.

Always when arriving at ER we would say to each other, tallest floodlights in Europe!
